The contributions of noted American women over the past 200 years are depicted through dramatization and newsreel footage. Patricia Neal narrates the program, which includes vignettes on such women as Susan B. Anthony (played by Lois Nettleton) and Elizabeth Cady Stanton (Celeste Holm), pioneer suffragettes; Harriet Tubman (Melba Moore), who helped free hundreds of slaves; and Margaret Sanger, who established the first birth-control clinic in the U.S.
