LOS ANGELES, June 1, 1998 . . . Production has begun in Luxembourg on the compelling drama, "Riddler's Moon," starring Kate Mulgrew ("Star Trek: Voyager"), Corbin Bernsen ("L.A. Law") and Daniel Newman ("Robin, Prince of Thieves") as a physically disabled teenager who receives telepathic messages from a strange force.  The two-hour movie is a co-production of Alliance Communications and Delux Productions/CLT-UFA International for "UPN's Way Out There Movie," a Thursday night franchise premiering this Fall.

Mulgrew stars as struggling Indiana farmer Victoria Riddler who barely ekes out an existence on a drought-stricken farm with her 16-year-old wheelchair-bound son, Elias (Daniel Newman).  But their lives change forever after Elias experiences  mysterious visions of bountiful cornfields and a way to escape the devastation.

Bernsen stars as George Brenner, a washed-up drinker who befriends the Riddlers and attempts to help convince the townsfolk that this healing force can rescue them all.  But it may be too late as the local bank official, Peter Morley, begins foreclosing on the farms and evicting the local community members - all the while attempting to romance Victoria Riddler.

Also starring are William Armstrong as Peter Morley and Angie Hill as Elias' pretty young physician and confidante, Dr. Sally Newton. "Riddler's Moon" is a co-production of Alliance Communications Corporation and Delux Productions/CLT-UFA in association with Chesler-Perlmutter Productions.  Lewis Chesler, David Perlmutter and Steve Ujlaki are executive producers.  Ken Gord and Jimmy de Brabant are producers.  Don McBrearty directs a script written by Karl Schiffman.
